About the Malta Business Registry
The Malta Business Registry, established under Subsidiary Legislation 497.27, is responsible for the registration of new commercial partnerships, the registration of documents related to commercial partnerships, the issuing of certified documentation including certificates of good-standing amongst others, the reservation of company names, the collection of registration and other fees, the publication of notices and the imposition and collection of penalties. The Registry also conducts investigations of companies and the keeping of the company and partnership register.
The Role
The eventual appointee will be appointed as a Casual Administrative Officer on a definite contract basis of one (1) year (starting Salary from EURO 19,370) and will be expected to apply his/her academic qualifications and/or work experience to the various day to day duties as directed by the Registrar of Companies or any other official who the registrar delegates for such purpose. The individual selected for this role will be expected to carry out the following tasks in accordance with the exigencies of the Registry:
- Vetting of selected documents required to be filed and registered in terms of law, updating and inputting of data, providing general assistance to desk officers and assisting the general public;
- Carrying out of Court-related duties, including preparation of information and documentation for submission as evidence and attending Court sittings to give evidence on behalf of the Registrar;
- Carrying out any other general Clerical and Administrative duties as directed from time to time, including dealing with customers at the Registry of Companies counters, answering telephone enquiries, issuing of penalty letters and reminders and publication of notices in terms of law in respect of documents registered.
About You
We are looking for candidates who possess at least three (3) years’ prior experience in a related area and a minimum of 6 ‘O’ Levels (one of which may be an ECDL Certification).
Preference will be given to candidates who possess a University of Malta Degree in Law (LL.D) or Accounting or Banking & Finance or equivalent Preference will be given to candidates who possess an NQF Level 5 Qualification or better, in Accountancy or Banking & Finance or equivalent academic qualification in a relevant field of study, duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC)* or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level.
*It is the responsibility of applicants in possession of qualifications awarded by Universities and other similar institutions outside Malta to produce a recognition statement on comparability of qualifications issued by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC). Applicants should do so preferably at application stage or otherwise at the preliminary interview should an applicant be selected for such interview.
