About the Malta Business Registry
The Malta Business Registry, established under Subsidiary Legislation 595.27, is responsible for the registration of new commercial partnerships, the registration of documents related to commercial partnerships, the issuing of certified documentation including certificates of good-standing amongst others, the reservation of company names, the collection of registration and other fees, the publication of notices and the imposition and collection of penalties. The Registry also conducts investigations of companies and the keeping of the company and partnership register.
The MBR houses the Malta Tax and Customs Administration, which complements the other Business Units of the MBR such that a one-stop service for operators in the financial services sector is available. The Malta Tax and Customs Administration forms part of the Office of the Commissioner for Revenue under the Ministry for Finance. It is entrusted to assist international business from a fiscal perspective with the aim to promote international investment.

The Role
The selected candidate will be appointed as General Duties Officer in Grade 12. S/he will be expected to carry out clerical duties at the Malta Tax and Customs Administration, including:
- Duties relating to the Exchange of Information;
- Periodical updates in information in relation to companies’ tax obligations;
- Capturing of information included in company tax returns;
- Work related to transfer of marketable securities in relation to the Duty on Documents and Transfers Act;
- Bookkeeping duties in relation to the bank accounts;
- Receipting of tax payments;
- Issuing of tax certificates;
- Processing other applications in connection with local and international business;
- Dealing with customers’ enquiries;
- The handling of mail; and
- Performing other office duties such as the organisation of the filing system and stationery.
Furthermore s/he will be expected to assist in other duties as may be directed from time to time either by the Commissioner for Tax and Customs or by any other official to whom the Commissioner’s authority is delegated. About You
We are looking for candidates who possess a minimum of 5 o’ Levels (one of which should be ECDL Certificate or an Equivalent Level of Computer Literacy); OR
Candidate who possess a minimum of 3 o’ Levels (one of which should be ECDL Certificate or an Equivalent Level of Computer Literacy) AND 2 years prior experience in a related area
Possession of proved clerical work experience would be considered an asset.
